Senegal to launch national dialogue on political system reform

At the initiative of President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, this vast republican consultation will bring together the different layers of society under the leadership of Doctor Cheikh Gueye, chosen as facilitator by the Head of State. The objective of this dialogue, which is intended to be inclusive, is to “rethink our institutions, revisit our practices, and rebuild trust between the State and its citizens,” as the Head of State stated in his speech on April 4. The terms of reference for this consultation have been unveiled and communicated to the various stakeholders. This dialogue will be structured around ten interconnected axes, calling for deep and lasting reforms to the Senegalese political system.
