Nigerian House of Representatives debates legislation to separate office of Attorney General from Minister of Justice

The House of Representatives has begun a fresh move to separate the office of the Attorney General of the Federation from that of the Minister of Justice. The move, according to the House, is to remove political interference in the activities of the AGF. The 8th National Assembly had attempted to split the office as part of its Constitution review exercise.
