Muslims petition Liberian parliament against Christian state proposal

<p>Liberian Muslims on Tuesday presented a petition to parliament seeking to scrap a proposed constitutional amendment that calls for reinstating Christianity as the country’s state religion. Reading the petition, Knowlden Williams, vice chair of the Islamic Solidarity for Peace and Democracy in Liberia group, said attempts to declare Liberia a Christian state would be “unconstitutional”.</p>
