Court of the East African Community petitioned to rule on the third term of President Nkurunziza in Burundi

<p>The Pan-African Lawyers Union, the East African Civil Society Organizations Forum and Burundian civil society filed on Monday 6 July at Arusha, a petition with the Court of the East African Community (EACJ).&nbsp;The aim is to seek the annulment of decisions of the Constitutional Court and Burundian INEC after their approval of the candidacy of President Nkurunziza to a third term.&nbsp;"As demonstrated by the ratio of officials of the Ministries of Justice of the EAC, we hope that the court will annul the contested decisions as contrary to the provisions of the Arusha Agreement, the Constitution and the Treaty establishing the EAC, "said a member of the delegation.&nbsp;Burundian civil society was represented by four lawyers: Me Dieudonné Bashirahishize, Gustave Niyonzima Me, Me and Mr
