Human Rights and Good Governance Programme (HUGOU)
The Danish support to democratisation and the promotion of political and civil rights also includes the need to support the holding of democratic elections and electoral reforms. The newly developed strategy for this Component includes a focus on enhancing capacity of state, political and civil society institutions to contribute to democratic processes. The Component aims at supporting initiatives that ensure that the constitutional process has been informed, encourage democratic culture and transparency within the political parties, empower civil society organisations to fulfil a role in a democratisation process and back preparations for future free, fair and genuine elections. (There are 7 main components in the same program, the full amount does not specify allocation to each component) 1. Standard project on rights advocacy and empowerment of indigenous people2.
